I focused my research on nest quality and orientation both of which are important predictors of reproductive success. Penguin can raise chicks in the open or with little cover but the pairs that have shady nests in bushes or burrows have higher reproductive success. I have helped the project in a variety of capacities as a researcher, translator, and ambassador for penguins. I live in Buenos Ares and visit Punta Tombo to help the project and look for many of the penguins I banded in my first season at Punta Tombo in 1984-1985, Amazingly, there are still a few I find.
